Kids are born curious! They tend to question everything and follow their noses, exploring and experimenting without biases or limits. This way of interacting with the world is how they learn more about it, and it can all happen through play.

Play nurtures a type of learning that kids can carry beyond their time in school, into the rest of their lives. It develops important skills like problem-solving, self-regulation, independence, self-confidence, planning and so many more. The list of what they can learn through play is truly endless, and so are the possibilities of what they can do with these skills.

We know that it’s these little problem-solvers and dreamers who will someday change the world, so we started Pok Pok to do our part in raising creative, curious kids. We strive to empower them to think outside the box and look at the world through their unique points of view.

We know that when our kids are immersed in play, they are focused and their imaginations are continually expanding without limit. It’s where their creativity comes to life.

It’s in these special moments where kids learn the best, and the most. Taking inspiration from our own messy playrooms at home, we wanted to bring a similar sense of endless exploration and creative freedom to toys in a digital space.

Pok Pok Playroom is designed to fit in seamlessly with the other toys in a child’s playroom — one that they can pick up and explore at their own pace. Each toy in the Playroom is open-ended, meaning that there’s no right or wrong, no possibility to fail and that kids are completely in charge.

While it may confuse adults that there are no rules, no instructions, no menus and no language, it’s very intuitive for kids. It’s just like handing your child a set of blocks to play with — they see them and decide how they want to play with them in the moment. And, the best part is, they can change their minds and play with them in a whole new way tomorrow.

How did we figure all of this out? We spent years playtesting with kids all over the world, taking every gesture, laugh, double hand-slap on the screen and piece of feedback into account. We also partnered with educators who could support our observations and designs. Working with them all has inspired so many ideas, and each one is now tucked inside the Playroom, waiting to be discovered.
