Navigating Extra Screen Time During This Season

The holidays often mean more screen time as routines shift. Thankfully, Pok Pok offers a calming, low-stimulation option for those chilled-out moments at home or while traveling. However, even with a healthier option like Pok Pok, a bit of preparation on handling extra screen time can help defuse any stressful situations that may arise! Here are a few tips.

1. Screen-Free Zones: Decide ahead of time what will be a screen-free zone and speak to the kids about this. A screen-free zone could be when family is over or maybe they only get it after the meal. Maybe they do not bring devices to any outings or activities but can start their mornings cozied up with it. Setting expectations ahead of time and giving reminders as you transition between the days events can go a long way!

2. Support Team: If you are doing the holidays with a partner or other family members, be sure to get them on the same page about screen time boundaries. This will help avoid any disagreements that will undoubtedly add to the stress of a child melting down.

3. List It Or Lose It: If you’re traveling outside the home or bouncing around a lot, it could save you some grief to keep a checklist in your phone with all that you’ll need to be successful around media management. List your chargers, devices, headphones, and any alternative activities you want to have on stand-by. You can even set a reminder to charge devices up before a big trip and download the apps and movies you want to have without using internet!

As the year winds down, our team will be taking a holiday break. Please note that social media and support responses might be a bit slower than usual. Don’t forget to join us on Instagram and TikTok for our final posts of 2024 as we welcome a brand-new year together!

Happy holidays from all of us at Pok Pok! We hope this update fills your home with warm, fuzzy feelings and inspires magical moments of connection. ❤️
